An Emigrant's Itinerary
Like John Bunyan's 1678 literary work,
from which the title was borrowed, and which describes an allegoric
spiritual journey from this world to a better one, this website aims at
presenting the different aspects of Luxembourg emigration through the
account and illustration of an emigrant´s itinerary from Luxembourg to
the United States. Wherever possible, care has been taken to present
items and examples from Eastern Luxembourg, the Moselle River Valley,
an area where emigration was particularly strong, starting in 1846.
